A Statement from the Director of Canela Health Connections
January 1st 2026
As we begin 2026, I want to speak clearly and directly about why Canela Health Connections exists, and why that matters now more than ever.
Across Canada and the United States, people are facing uncertainty, long wait times, fragmented care, and difficult decisions about their health and the health of those they love. Too often, patients are left navigating complex systems alone, relying on incomplete information, or being approached by organizations that treat healthcare like a product rather than a responsibility.
Canela Health Connections was created to change that.
We are a Canadian-based, healthcare-led organization built on one foundational principle:
medical decisions must be guided by medical experts, not salespeople, marketers, or travel intermediaries.
From the very first call, our clients are connected with an experienced medical doctor who reviews their case, assesses risk, and determines the appropriate next step—often the very same day. This is not a consultation funnel. This is real medical triage and clinical judgment, applied early, when it matters most.
We partner exclusively with internationally recognized hospitals and specialists that meet global standards of safety, ethics, and quality. Our network spans multiple destinations across Mexico, north, west, and central, as well as select international locations such as Turkey, offering patients real options based on medical need, not geography or convenience.
We are proud to state, clearly and transparently, that Canela Health Connections is the only medical tourism organization that holds formal agreements and established clinical pathways with Hospitals Puerta de Hierro in Guadalajara.
